NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to MONITOR CONDITIONS for forecast heavy rainfall with flash flooding possible, damaging winds:
- Thredbo
- Khancoban
- Perisher Valley
- Charlotte Pass
- Cabramurra
- Selwyn

What are we expecting?
The Bureau of Meteorology advises a developing rain band, and associated low level wind jet, approaches from the northwest and is likely to move over the Snowy Mountains and South West Slopes throughout Tuesday morning, possibly bringing periods of damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible for the Snowy Mountains and South West Slopes during early Tuesday morning. Six-hour rainfall totals between 50 to 60 mm are possible.
The broader area of possible heavy rainfall is forecast to ease by Tuesday afternoon. However, severe thunderstorms may also develop and bring localised heavy falls to southern parts of the state during Tuesday afternoon and evening. Should severe thunderstorms develop, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued.
DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 80 to 90 km/h with have been observed and are likely to continue through the first half of today. Locations which may be affected include Thredbo and Charlotte Pass.
This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.
What you need to do:
- Avoid unnecessary travel, move indoors, bring children and pets with you.
- Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains.
- If safe to do so, secure or put away items, such as outdoor furniture, trampolines and roofing iron that could blow around in strong winds.
- Grab your emergency kit in case you lose power or need to leave your home.
- Monitor warnings issued by NSW SES on their website, HazardWatch and Facebook pages, the Hazards Near Me mobile app, local radio or television, and by following the latest weather information from the Bureau of Meteorology online.
